ABTA launches recession-busting toolkit

Wednesday, 18 March 20093 min read

ABTA has developed an online toolkit to help its members survive the recession.

The kit includes useful tips on cost effective marketing, risk management, ways of saving money and staff motivation.

It suggests members offer flexible working, reduce or eliminate overtime, take advantage of natural wastage and talk to their team.

It also advises members to be transparent with staff about your company’s financial outlook. “Secrecy tends to encourage
people to assume the worst,” it says.

Head of communications Casia Zajac said: “With a global economic downturn reaching all sectors and countries, businesses are struggling with factors outside their control.

“So, it makes sense to look at aspects of the business you can control such as business planning, marketing, overheads and staff motivation.”
