ABTA to carry out tougher checks on homeworkers
ABTA has been given the go ahead to carry out increased checks on people acting on behalf of members, such as homeworkers, outside sales representatives or the owners or managers of managed branches.
Members voted in favour of the resolution at this week’s AGM.
All six other resolutions were also passed, including removing the right of appeal against a termination of membership for failure to pay subscriptions.
Members also voted in favour of ABTA being allowed to require contributions towards shortfall security arrangements for all types of business conducted by members, which reflects the different categories of business under the new Package Travel Regulations introduced on July 1.
At the AGM, Katrina Cliffe, Kathryn Darbandi and Amanda Campbell were re-appointed to ABTA’s Board of Directors.
