Advantage’s key business travel members, which make up the Advantage Focus Partnership, have selected Galileo as their preferred GDS provider.
Under a three-year agreement, to be officially signed at this year’s Advantage Conference in Zurich, Galileo will be the sole, preferred GDS provider for members of the Focus Partnership.
The agents previously had a preferred supplier agreement with Sabre.
Under the new deal, Advantage Focus Partnership members will benefit from preferential pricing on many Galileo products and services.
Advantage said Galileo was chosen largely due to its enhanced Agency Private Fares tool, its corporate self-booking tool and its e-tracker tool which enables travel management companies to check the status of all airline e-tickets on the Galileo system.
Its new Viewtrip White Label website, which gives travellers access to travel details as well as giving agents the opportunity to promote special offers and advertise links, was also recognised as a potential new revenue stream for members.
“Following the extensive review that we undertook, the Advantage Focus Partnership technology panel was in complete agreement that Galileo was the GDS we most wanted to work with,” said Norman Gage, director of business travel for Advantage.
