Advantage Travel: All-inclusive holidays gaining traction
The appetite for travel during the autumn remains strong, especially the upcoming October half term holidays, says the Advantage Travel Partnership.
Advantage Travel data shows the Canary Islands as a top pick with 15% of all bookings. Tenerife is most popular followed by Lanzarote.
Mainland Spain has also seen high booking levels and late bookings for Greece and Cyprus.
Holidays are still a priority above various other expenses with travel agent partners seeing bookings up 16% compared to 2022.
There is strong demand for city breaks too, which account for 11% of bookings.
Rome is the biggest seller, followed by Krakow in Poland.
“The appetite for travel remains incredibly strong this year and the upcoming October half term is set to be another busy period,” explains Julia Lo Bue-Said, CEO of Advantage Travel
“Budget continues to be an important factor and this is reflected by the continued popularity of all-inclusive.”
Advantage Travel says this is the most popular board basis at 32% of all bookings during October half term.
It adds up to 36% for all 2024 bookings.
Long-haul trips are trending, with 20% of all 2024 departures so far.
Top long-haul destinations are the US, Caribbean and Maldives.
Meanwhile, city breaks are up to an 11% share of all 2024 bookings.
“Agents are best placed to help researching the ideal destination for every budget,” Lo Bue-Said added.
