Aer Lingus to be partly privatised
Aer Lingus has announced plans for part privatisation today.
The move is expected to raise 400m euros (£270m) to buy aircraft and expand the airline’s network.
The Irish government will sell more than 50% of its shares to investors and staff will retain their 15% holding.
Aer Lingus chief executive Dermot Mannion said being listed on the stock market would bring “significant profitable growth opportunities”.
