Agents offered free net fare solution
Agents are being offered a free trial of the net fare database, FAREnet Global.
The database allows agents to search for fares within their negotiated contracts, without the agent having to manually upload the information onto their system. Agents search through fares that are stored on the central server of DATAFLEXnet, the creators of FAREnet Global. Fare contracts are either loaded by the airline or by DATAFLEXnet.
DATAFLEXnet marketing executive, Steve Holmes told TravelMole the product was of greatest use to business travel agents because they tend to hold a number of net fare contracts. He said: “The product is of great use because increasingly business travellers are demanding the cheapest rates.”
He added that corporate customers could access FAREnet Global through the more user-friendly product, TravelServeXML.
Agents can customise the system so that mark-ups will automatically be added to the fare, and each user can have up to three different mark-ups.
To get the free one month trial agents need to go the the special website and input their details. They are emailed a user name and password to access the system. The free trial is only available until 6 February.
Customers of FAREnet Global include Lonsdale Travel, Ian Allan and Chambers Travel Management. The basic package, which allows five users costs £6,000 per year.
