Air France KLM back to black
Air France-KLM has returned to black for the first time in four years thanks to lower fuel costs and a rise in passengers.
The group posted an operating profit of €816m (£613m) for 2015, compared with a loss of €129m the previous year.
This was achieved despite the impact of the November terror attacks in Paris, which hit revenue in the fourth quarter by around €120m.
Even with the attacks, revenue for the three months to December 31 were up 2.2% to €6.3bn.
The group warned that the climate for this year remains uncertain.
"The global context in 2016 remains highly uncertain regarding fuel prices, the continuation of the overcapacity situation on several markets and the geopolitical and economic context in which we operate," it said.
"In consequence, the group expects the expected savings on the fuel bill to be significantly offset by unit revenue pressure and negative currency impacts."
The airline said it was still looking at ways to improve its competitiveness, including trying to negotiate new agreements with staff.
Last year, angry employees were involved in a violent protest at the group’s head office near Charles de Gaulle.
It ended with two airline executives having their shirts ripped off and one having to climb over a fence to escape.
