Air India crew derostered over cabin door opening error
Three Air India flight crew members have been taken off duty over a ‘lapse’ with a cabin door.
The captain, first officer and a flight attendant were derostered from duty.
After landing in Bengaluru from San Francisco, one of the doors was ‘‘erroneously opened’ causing the emergency slide to deploy.
“There was an incident of one of the doors of our aircraft not opening appropriately after landing. The issue was promptly attended to, passengers disembarked and the aircraft was subsequently cleared for operation,” the airline said.
It added there was no damage caused to the airbridge.
The incident is being investigated.
Engineers were called to remove the slide which had to be replaced before the aircraft could resume services.
The return flight back to San Francisco from Bengaluru was delayed as a result.
