Air Malta scraps agency sales
A single sales team has been created in a restructuring of Air Malta’s UK office.
The revamp by the airline, which employs 30 staff at the office, has taken place “in order to adapt to the continued changes in distribution and to boost further its business relations with the travel trade”.
UK sales manager Giovanni Costa now has overall responsibility for a single sales team, replacing the previous separate agency sales and telesales teams.
Matthew Parnell has been promoted to business development executive responsible for trade relationships and new opportunities.
Terry Marsh, formerly telesales and ticketing supervisor, has been transferred to sales operations officer and will be responsible for e-ticketing implementation, commercial quality assurance at all UK and Irish airports, plus system training.
UK and Ireland general manager Dale Keller said: “The revised structure will improve our flexibility to meet peak demands in trade and consumer enquiries and fulfilment, whilst enabling the team to develop a greater range of skills and expertise through wider variety of work.
“Streamlining of processes and reporting has been incorporated along with improved checks and response to customer service delivery.”
