Air New Zealand Announces Senior Team Reorganisation
Air New Zealand Chief Executive Officer Rob Fyfe announced today that he would be reorganising his senior executive team.
In addition, Mr Fyfe also announced he is proposing a new streamlined structure that supports the operational and customer facing areas of the business. This structure currently consists of 1890 positions and it is proposed this will reduce to 1420 over the next year.
“I have organised my team to ensure I have direct access to all facets of the business that are needed to ensure Air New Zealand is in the shape it needs to be to remain globally competitive”, said Mr Fyfe.
“That quest will now dominate my agenda. My team will leave no stone unturned to make sure all parts of Air New Zealand are performing at world class levels.”
Mr Fyfe said Air New Zealand now had a clear and exciting strategic direction to pursue and would become a nimble and fast moving business that was uniquely and proudly Kiwi.
But it needed to earn the right to grow by further improving its efficiency, and simplifying its business.
“Like it or not, our fortunes, and the fortunes of this country are inextricably linked. What’s good for us is good for New Zealand, and vice versa.
“I am determined to ensure that despite operating in a brutally competitive industry, we have a strong, profitable national airline of which we can all be proud.”
