Malaysia-based Capital A Group is planning US listings for low-cost carrier AirAsia airline and its super app, according to boss Tony Fernandes.

“We think the time is right for part of Capital A Group to be listed in the US,” he told the FT.

He said it will list the two businesses separately .

The AirAsia listing would-be ‘sometime next year.’

Capital A, formerly known as AirAsia Group, is still under financial distress classification on the Bursa Malaysia stock exchange.

Capital A has been pushing development of its super app, which offers various travel products, ride hailing, food delivery and other services.

Capital A’s losses widened to $204.67 million in the first quarter.
