Airbnb looking to lure more corporate travelers with Concur tie up
Airbnb has inked an agreement with corporate travel platform Concur allowing users to search and book Airbnb stays directly on Concur.
Home sharing listings will be embedded within the system allowing for easy expense reporting for corporate clients.
Airbnb accommodations will show up within Concur alongside tradition options such as business hotels.
"Our customers want to give their employees the ability to take advantage of Airbnb lodging, but within the framework and controls of their existing travel program," said Tim MacDonald, chief product officer at Concur.
Concur says it has seen Airbnb bookings for business travel grow by a third in the second quarter of 2017.
The two companies first formed a relationship back in 2014 when Airbnb was added to the Triplink service to help streamline travel expense reporting.
"The lines between business and leisure travel are blurring, with more and more of us combining business trips with weekend stays. Travelers often want to get out and absorb the culture of a city when they’re traveling for business, while travel managers need visibility in to employee spend and whereabouts to support corporate policy and duty of care programs," said David Holyoke, global head of business travel at Airbnb.
