Both the FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 closed up yesterday, the 100 index finishing on 4847.1, 3.9 points up, and the 250 on 7110.2, 11.7 points up.

British Airways, Ryanair and EasyJet were all among the climbers, BA bolstered by a US report claiming the long-haul passenger market is set to improve.
