Airline travel demand weakens amid Delta surge
Global airline travel demand has weakened in July as the Delta variant spreads, according to consumer credit card data analyzed by JPMorgan Chase.
The data shows a significant fall of 20% in air bookings in late July, compared to mid-July. Federal data showed air passenger traffic via TSA screenings at US airports fell for the first time since April.
The report also found spending at restaurants also fell slightly last month by 2.5%.
