Airport transfer customers allege bank card fraud

Tuesday, 10 Sep, 2013 0

Customers have taken to internet forums to complain about airport transfer companies Resorthoppa and A2B after bank cards they used to book travel arrangements were allegedly misused.

Several customers claim their cards were used to make fraudulent transactions after they had booked travel arrangements with either Resorthoppa or sister brands A2B and Golfbookers over the summer.

The online travel forum calis-beach.co.uk has complaints from at least a dozen customers who found unauthorised payments had been made from their cards in days, weeks or in some cases months after they had made bookings with the three brands, mainly for airport transfers in Turkey.

There are other comments on turkishliving.com and on Facebook.

Most of the fraudulent transactions appeared to be for mobile phone top up or purchases, although there were also attempted purchases for flights.

TravelMole has been contacted by one customer who claimed fraudsters tried to use her bank card to buy flights after she’d booked several airport transfers from Palma and Marmis with Resorthoppa.

A comment on the travel review site TripAdvisor said the company was aware of a problem with card misuse and had launched an investigation.

Also, a member of Resorthoppa’s customer service team, has invited customers to get in touch directly following complaints on Facebook. She wrote on the company’s Facebook page:  "My names Mollie and I work within the Customer Services team at Resorthoppa.

"We have read through your comments and would like to investigate any individual issues further. Our company has been carrying holidaymakers from the airport to resort and back for over seven years and we pride ourselves on an excellent experience for all customers and of course on great customer service as well. Last year we carried over 2m passengers across both our brands and we treat issues like this very seriously.

"Our website carries 3D secure protection and is a safe, secure way of booking your airport to resort and resort to airport transfer.

"We have not been made aware of this issue occurring for other customers so would like to be able to look into the issues you have experienced and resolve them immediately. If you could please send us your booking reference and provide a brief description of the issues experienced to us we will ensure a member of our customer service team look into this ASAP."
