Alaska Air receives further compensation from Boeing over 737 Max grounding
Alaska Airlines has received further compensation from Boeing over the temporary grounding of its 737 Max 9 fleet.
The plane maker gave Alaska Air $61 million in credit memos as compensation.
This is in addition to the $162 million in cash it received from Boeing earlier this year.
The credit memos can be used for further Boeing aircraft orders.
The Boeing 737 Max 9 grounding happened in January after a door panel blew out during an Alaska Airlines flight.
This prompted the FAA to impose a grounding on all Max 9 aircraft which lasted about three weeks.
The airline has since returned all its Boeing 737 Max 9 aircraft to service.
