Asap.co.uk introduces cost per acquisition model
Travel comparison website asap.co.uk has been re-launched to offer more choice and deals from major operators and specialist companies.
Asap.co.uk claims to offer the first major travel comparison service based on a cost per acquisition (CPA) model, which it believes provides both customers and suppliers with a fairer, more comprehensive service.
According to asap.co.uk, the pay-per-click (PPC) approach currently used by other comparison sites, restricts fair choice due to the pricing structure used.
Developed by the team behind Carrentals.co.uk, the new asap.co.uk site has been improved to make it faster to compare and find the best deals, while also including the latest travel news and blog postings to create a comprehensive travel resource.
The site now offers quick comparison of the latest deals from brands such as British Airways, Opodo, Alamo, Holiday Autos and ebookers.
Marketing director Gareth Robinson said: “The improvements we have made to the site make searching even easier, helping both leisure and business travellers find the most convenient travel options at the best prices.
“The PPC approach is a great revenue stream for companies such as TravelSupermarket, as most visitors will click through to different providers several times, with each click making money for the comparator.
“But for the companies paying to be listed the costs can quickly mount up, without guaranteeing a booking. As a result many companies choose not to work with these comparison sites because of the potential for escalating costs, which means consumers don’t get the breadth of choice to find the best deals.
“Our approach is different. We work with hundreds of travel companies to provide a clear comparison of the best deals available.
“Because we get paid a commission on actual bookings, it’s in our interests to offer the best deals for consumers and this is at the core of our commitment to offer the best comparison site.”
Search results are shown in price order, together with details of the company providing the service. Users can then go straight to the supplier’s site, which retains the travel details, and read more about the options and book if they choose.
Asap.co.uk is part of ASAP Ventures, which operates four offices – three in the UK and one in Australia.
