Barrhead Travel reveals Northern Ireland expansion plan
Barrhead Travel has revealed its next location for expansion
It will focus its expansion plans on Northern Ireland where it plans to open a new travel agency location before the end of 2024.
As well as retail expansion, its commitments to existing store refurbishments, new websites, and the launch of further specialist departments including its US division, remain.
Expansion in Northern Ireland will see the opening of a new store this year.
It will become the second Barrhead Travel branded store in Northern Ireland following the opening of its Belfast branch in 2017.
The group also met growing demand in the region by launching a homeworking division in 2022.
It has a team of agents working remotely across Northern Ireland.
The exact location is still undetermined.
Jacqueline Dobson, President of Barrhead Travel, said: “We see great opportunities for an agent like Barrhead Travel to grow the high street market here.”
“What is important is firstly identifying the right people for our next location. Our pre-Covid expansion followed this blueprint and has brought us huge success.
“There are a few specific locations we have in mind – but we’re open to the right opportunity.”
Hiring for the new Northern Ireland store will initially be for five full-time positions.
The new store will bring the group’s retail footprint to 90 locations across the UK.
