Big holiday beach clean
July Make holidays greener turns to vital bucket and spade operation
The world’s beaches are vital to so many holidays we sell and enjoy. This July, Make Holidays Greener month will be your chance to give something back because clean beaches aren’t just important for tourism, they are essential for coastal communities and wildlife such as sea turtles too.
Make Holidays Greener wants to see as many beach cleanups as possible across the globe throughout July. And for those who can’t organise a cleanup abroad or don’t do beach holidays, there will be lots of other ways to get behind the campaign.
Travel Foundation is working with the Marine Conservation Society and will provide a range of resources to help, whatever your level of involvement, including toolkits, facts and top tips for customers and kids activities. And, as with previous years, we’ll also be looking to secure some great opportunities for sponsorship and media coverage.

Salli Felton, acting Chief Executive at the Travel Foundation, said: "Make Holidays Greener month is for everyone in the travel industry. This July we want everyone our come together and achieve something really big. With your help, we’ll clean up many tonnes of rubbish from the environment that can be harmful to wildlife, and use tourism’s considerable influence to help stop further littering. We’ll also raise awareness of the importance of healthy beaches not just for tourism but for local communities and biodiversity."
