British Airways set for a record summer of flights to North America

Friday, 13 Sep, 2024 0

British Airways will operate its largest ever transatlantic summer season in 2025.

It will run a record number of flights to North America, offering more than 400 direct flights per week during the peak summer to the US, Canada and Mexico.

It includes flights to 26 US cities.

Also, when arriving in the US, BA passengers can connect onto more than 100 US destinations with British Airways’ partner airlines.

The UK flag carrier operates more flights across the pond than any other European carrier, and is the only European airline to offer a First Class cabin across the Atlantic from London.

The increased summer schedule is now available to book on ba.com.

An additional seven flights per week will operate to Miami as well as an extra six flights per week to Austin, TX.

There will be three extra weekly flights to Las Vegas and the Pittsburgh service is upgraded to daily.

The Washington DC route is increased to seven flights per week, bringing the total to 21 flights per week.

Neil Chernoff, BA Chief Planning and Strategy Officer, said: “The US remains a priority market for us, and we know these network changes will be welcomed by both our business and leisure customers.”

In the last decade, British Airways has launched six new routes to cities across the US, including Austin in 2014, New Orleans in 2016, Nashville in 2018, Pittsburgh in 2019, Portland, Oregon, in 2022, and most recently Cincinnati in 2023.

Elsewhere on British Airways’ global route network, a third daily flight to Delhi has been added for summer 2025, bringing the total number of flights to India to 63 per week to five destinations.

Flights from London Gatwick to Cancun (CUN) will also grow from six per week to seven, becoming a daily service next summer.

New services to Kuala Lumpur and Jeddah, both launching in November 2024, will continue into the summer 2025 season.
