A shortlist of entries to this year’s British Travel Awards has been drawn up.
Travel companies across the industry have submitted completed criteria forms for entry into various ‘Of the Year’ categories.
The shortlist of entries for these categories have been selected and are being considered by the BTA Academy, made up of panels including travel industry pundits, professionals and experts in all areas of travel.
The judges’ scores will be scrutinised and discussed by the BTA Academy on October 5 in London.
Proceedings will be supervised and results will be audited by Deloitte LLP – the British Travel Awards’ official voting auditors.
Winners and silver-placed finalists will be announced at the awards Gala night held at Battersea Evolution on the November 5.
The short-list for the “Of the Year” categories can be viewed online at www.britishtravelawards.com.
All other categories which do not require the completion of criteria forms will continue to attract consumer and trade votes until September 30 via The Sunday Times, The Sun, News of the World, Heart FM, LBC, Classic FM, TripAdvisor, Sky Travel and a bus campaign running in the north of England with CBS Outdoor.
The BTA’s will be hosted by stand-up comedian and ‘8 out of 10 Cats’ team leader Jason Manford.
Entertianment includes The Ultimate Earth, Wind and Fireband, a cabaret performance from Street Force, dinner music with The London Banqueting Ensemble and fireworks.
Complimentary coach transfers will run to and from the venue from Victoria and Marble Arch. Preferred hotel rates are also available via GTA by Travelport and Hostelbookers.
Seats and tables at the awards dinner can be booked on the British Travel Awards website www.britishtravelawards.com.
