Brooklyn Bridge and other unusual meeting venues
Think outside the box to find unusual meeting venues, urges Smarter Meetings. “Why not take your groups out of the boardroom and into an aquarium, a sports stadium, a museum gallery or even a nightclub?” the site says.
Some suggestions:
• Take the meeting to a combination bowling alley and karaoke club such as Austin’s HighBall. Various groups offer them. Such settings inspire productivity and offer “memorable experiences,” according to Samantha Cox, director of sales and marketing. director of sales and marketing
• Theme parks such as SeaWorld in San Antonio offer designated meeting space in addition to infinite team-building options on-site.
• Nightclubs and other venues for music such as the historic Fox Theater in Oakland, Calif., or The Kress Hollywood, which is a multi-storied nightclub in Hollywood that dates back to 1934.
• “Get your groups out of the office and into cultural and educational venues,” the site urges. “Attendees can learn about exotic wildlife or sample local vintages—either way their senses are sure to be stimulated.”
• An alternative is when performing-arts groups are off-stage, a group can stage its own event at a theater or performing arts center.
• “Aquariums can provide built-in “living décor” as well as a fun, educational aspect to an event,” the site says.
• Sports-themed and sporting venues are another way to immediately create a relaxed environment with the thrill of the game, the site adds. Venues from ballparks to bowling alleys can make groups feel at home.
And don’t forget the Brooklyn Bridge, which can accommodate up to 1,500 people.
