California hotel offers new twist on beverages

Cavallo Point Lodge in San Francisco says it is the first to offer guests in-room bartender service “with a view.”

“A cocktail at Cavallo Point Lodge isn’t just about the beverage, it’s about the experience,” said Dominie Lenz, general manager.  “Having your beverage prepared and poured for you and your guests in the privacy of your room brings back the old traditional elegance of what cocktails are all about.”

Cavallo rooms and suites, nestled in the Marin Headlands, offer iconic views of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco and the Bay.

Cavallo Point patrons can customize cocktail packages based on preference. Options include hand-shaken cocktails prepared by Cavallo Point’s in-room bartender; pre-made cocktails delivered to the room; or cocktail ingredients delivered for guests to make themselves.

Cocktail selections include the Cavallo Mimosa, Smoked Bloody Mary, Cadillac Margarita, Classic Martini, Manhattan and a Grand Cosmopolitan.  Each in-room cocktail package comes with a 375ml bottle of liquor and the accompaniments needed to serve four-to-six guests.  Prices range from $50 to $75, plus tax, gratuity and delivery charge.

The lodge features many spacious suites and junior suites with inviting sitting areas, convenient for entertaining and celebrating life’s moments, the hotel says.

All rooms and suites have access to a balcony or porch for enjoying warm nights outside, and most sitting areas are equipped with a gas fireplace that serves both as a decorative centerpiece and as a way to take the chill off when the night gets cooler.

Opened in the summer of 2008, Cavallo Point Lodge is a “base camp where the city’s urban edge meets the rugged Marin coast,” the hotel says.

Since opening, it has earned much recognition, including LEED Gold certification, and was named one of America’s top new national landmarks by Travel + Leisure Magazine.
