Would be first time cruisers can now take a test run without leaving terra firma.
Carnival Corporation has teamed up with Samsung and AT&T stores to bring virtual cruising via the Samsung Gear VR.
In-store virtual reality displays are available from today until March 11 at more than 100 AT&T across the country.
The VR content showcases 360-degree views of decks, staterooms and entertainment venues on carnival ships as well as excursions at destinations around the world such as Mexico an Barcelona.
"Globally, the growing popularity of cruising vacations is far outpacing land-based vacations, by a 23% but there are still many people who have not had a chance to enjoy the one-of-a-kind experience we provide with one of our 10 cruise line brands," said Carnival Corp CEO Arnold Donald.
"With most of the US dealing with winter weather, the timing for this launch is designed to give people a fully immersive look at why cruising has become so popular as a great vacation."
Walk-in customers at the AT&T stores can get on-board credit for a future cruise when they purchase selected Samsung smartphones and free seven-day cruises are up for grabs via an online sweepstake competition.
