It’s not quite ‘Love Boat’ this time round, but Cruise giant Carnival Corp is taking to the airwaves with a series of original TV shows.
Carnival has produced three different reality TV shows which will be aired on ABC, NBC and The CW on Saturday mornings.
The shows will feature ships from all of the company’s 10 brands, said Carnival Corporation CEO Arnold Donald.
‘Ocean Treks’ presented by Emmy Award winner Jeff Corwin will air on ABC.
"I’m on a trip of a lifetime visiting the greatest port cities on the planet," Corwin says in a promotional segment for the show.
NBC will broadcast ‘The Voyager’ with Josh Garcia.
Comedian Tommy Davidson and YouTube celebrity Andrea Feczko are hosts of ‘Vacation Creation’ on The CW, which awards cruise vacations to families in need.
The three series start airing on October 1, and about 80 episodes are due to be aired over the next year.
"We are excited to launch our first original TV programs and to share compelling content and stories with millions of people," said Carnival CEO Arnold Donald.
"The shows will also help dispel outdated myths about cruising and expose a much broader consumer audience to why cruising is the fastest growing segment of the vacation industry."
Donald says the shows are designed to appeal to all age groups and the airing on Saturday mornings will help attract more of the family market.
