Carnival Cruise Line launches pro-agent campaign in the US

Thursday, 28 Mar, 2019 0

Carnival Cruise Line is banging the drum for travel agents in the US with a new year-long campaign.

It has rolled out an initiative called Why Use A Travel Advisor (WUATA), touting the value of using a travel professional.

Carnival’s SVP of sales and trade marketing, Adolfo Perez, says the general public still don’t fully understand the value of a travel professional and the line wants to put this right.

“Booking obviously takes a lot of time, and you are not necessarily an expert when you are trying to figure out where to go and what you want to do. When you are planning a vacation you can have somebody do all of the legwork for you,” he said.

The campaign will see WUATA Parties throughout the year starting in Orlando on May 8, followed by Minneapolis, New York City and Los Angeles.

Travel advisors are invited to bring along regular and prospective clients.

Carnival sales executives and BDMs will also attend.

There will also be special prizes given out to agents organised by ASTA and CLIA and booking incentives aimed at clients.

The campaign will also feature social media promotions, contests and giveaways throughout the year.

Perez said the line could expand the WUATA Parties program to more cities.

Travel advisors can sign up at GoCCL.com to attend a party on a first-come, first served basis.
