Carnival Cruise Line takes flight with blimp in new ‘Homeport Advantage’ campaign
The sky is the limit for Carnival Cruise Line’s latest promotional campaign.
It has taken to the skies with the Carnival AirShip – a 128-feet-long blimp to showcase its new cruise ship deployments across the country.
As part of the Homeport Advantage campaign the blimp will fly across seven southern states, visiting key homeports in Galveston, New Orleans, Mobile, Tampa, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Port Canaveral, Jacksonville and Charleston.
The Carnival AirShip was introduced at Carnival’s annual Day of Play at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis and will also call on Dallas and Houston before ending the campaign in Atlanta.
"Carnival is America’s Cruise Line and what better way to showcase our new offerings in popular homeports like Galveston, Port Canaveral and Miami than with our very own AirShip that highlights our #ChooseFun tagline," said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line.
Prizes including free cruises, VIP event passes and Carnival gift cards are up for grabs for photos or videos posted to social media using the hashtag #ChooseFun.
Every time the hashtag is used a donation will go to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The Carnival Airship will stop in Miami on September 20 to coincide with the arrival of the Carnival Horizon which begins its year-round deployment at PortMiami.
Special events are scheduled with Carnival’s ‘chief fun officer’ NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal and Miami Heat players.
