CEMA, IMEX again survey meeting planners on app use
Corporate event planners will be questioned on a range of issues regarding mobile app usage and habits to better identify growing trends and challenges with mobile event apps.
The second part of an ongoing comprehensive study is targeting corporate buyers and will look at budgeting, app functionality, and how app usage is changing overall meetings strategy.
IMEX Group and the Corporate Event Marketing Association (CEMA) is working with app developer QuickMobile to delve deeper into issues raised during the first phase of the survey.
First phase findings of the study were presented earlier this year at IMEX Frankfurt.
"We will use this next round of surveys to reach even more industry professionals and strengthen our initial benchmarks," said Kim Gishler, executive director of CEMA.
The insights from the first study announced in May provided the industry’s first broad understanding of the trends and it’s clear from the first survey that mobile event apps are having a positive impact on meetings and conferences."
QuickMobile CEO Patrick Payne added: "In our first round of surveys, we learned that there is tremendous room for growth as the majority of respondents do not include mobile event apps in their budgets. This second round will help to deepen our understanding from earlier this year."
The latest results will be announced at IMEX America in Las Vegas on October 14.
