Chalair launching first Caen air link from the UK
Normandy-based airline Chalair is launching a new destination in France: Caen.
Caen flights will operate twice a week from Southampton on a 70-seat ATR 72 aircraft every Friday and Sunday.
The summer route runs from June 28 to September 22.
It is the only air route from the UK to Caen.
Reservations are now open and can be made on the Chalair website.
Alain Battisti, Chairman of Chalair, said: “As a Normandy airline based in Caen, Chalair is proud to be part of the region’s tourism.
Flying from Southampton to Caen, our ambition is to improve the local economy and cultural discoveries, contributing to more exchanges.”
Christopher Tibbett, Aero Director for AGS Airports, Southampton Airport owner, said: “We are thrilled to not only welcome new partner Chalair but also celebrate Southampton Airport’s first-ever service to Caen.”
Caen flights from Southampton take around 40 minutes.
Chalair Aviation is an independent French airline founded in 1986.
