Choose Chicago has released a new travel show focusing on the city’s most colorful neighborhoods.

Called “The 77: A City of Neighborhoods,” the new series tells the stories of residents and small business owners in five neighborhoods.

It takes viewers on a journey to explore authentic stories, culinary heritage, and preservation efforts in these communities.

The series is part of Choose Chicago’s efforts to support community-led neighborhood tourism.

It does this through traditional and digital marketing, neighborhood guides, the Chicago Alfresco Program, and more.

It is now available to stream for free on YouTube and at https://www.choosechicago.com/the77.

“Choose Chicago has produced something very special with ‘The 77: A City of Neighborhoods’,” said Mayor Brandon Johnson.

“This is more than just a travel series; it is a journey into the soul of Chicago.”

“We’re taking a new and creative approach to marketing our city with this series,” added Rich Gamble, Interim President and CEO at Choose Chicago.

The series will feature five unique Chicago neighborhoods: Pullman/Roseland, Humboldt Park, Bronzeville, Uptown, and Little Village.

Versions of the latter are available for streaming in both English and Spanish.

The half hour episodes will be used to continue attracting locals and visitors to explore Chicago’s unique neighborhoods.

Skalawag Productions, a Chicago-based film studio, was chosen as creator of the series which produced the neighborhood stories through food videography, captivating interviews, and graphics.

The project was made possible through the American Recovery Plan Act (ARPA) funds distributed by the City of Chicago to support neighborhood tourism marketing.
