Almost one half of cruises are now booked six months out or longer, says Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA).
The organization in its 2006 outlook said this was an encouraging trend.
It means there’s a good balance between pricing and demand, said CLIA Chairman Andy Stuart.
The outlook reflecting agents responding to questions found that 16.5% of passengers book cruises three months out, while 25.9% book more than six months in advance.
CLIA predicted a robust 2006 cruise season — basing that on new ships, expanded itineraries and strong reported travel agent bookings.
