Cruise Council Launches New Agent Promotion
The International Cruise Council Australasia is offering its travel agent members the chance to win a share of $11,000 worth of credit with the Council simply by booking and taking a deposit on a holiday with a member cruise line this month.
Cruise Council General Manager Linda Halliday said the September Cruise Month promotion – a first for the organisation – would mark the start of the Australian cruise industry’s biggest ever summer wave season.
Ms Halliday said the promotion was open to all travel agent members of the Council, as well as new members that signed up during the month.
The prize credit may be used on Cruise Council activity including membership renewal fees, accreditation training, the annual Masters Conference or tickets to the 2007 Cruise Industry Awards Dinner to be held January 19, 2008.
“This is the first time we’ve ever offered such a prize – it’s a massive thank you to the trade for their support in encouraging so many Australians to take a cruise holiday each year,” Ms Halliday said.
Ms Halliday said she hoped the new promotion would encourage agents to make the most of their membership by attending Council events to further their training and knowledge.
“With so many ships coming to Australia this wave season, there’s never been a better time to hop onboard with the Cruise Council and send your clients sailing,” she said.
Five winners will be drawn to share the prize pool, one each from New South Wales/Australian Capital Territory, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria/Tasmania and Western Australia/Northern Territory.
Winners will be announced on October 10, 2007 and published on the Cruise Council website – http://www.cruising.org.au/
Formed in 1996, the International Cruise Council Australasia has 23 member cruise lines and is responsible for raising trade and consumer awareness about cruising.
