Disruption continues for RavnAir flights after cyber-attack
Alaska-based carrier RavnAir is still cancelling flights, days after a ‘malicious cyber-attack’ hit its computer network.
It impacted its Dash 8 aircraft as it was forced to disconnect the Dash 8 maintenance system due to the hack.
The company is liaising with the FBI, and a cyber-security company to fully restore its systems.
However RavnAir said Dash 8 operations could still be disrupted for a number of days yet.
The problems began on Saturday with cancellations affecting about 260 passengers, and continued Sunday and Monday.
Flights on sister brands PenAir and RavnAir Connect were not impacted.
RavnAir flights connect many Alaskan communities which are not accessible by road and the only option is to fly.
