Human remains have been found by police divers during the raising of the Costa Concordia.
Two people have been unaccounted for since the night the ship capsized and sank off Giglio island 20 months ago, killing 30 other people.
The 951 ft vessel has been raised upright in a major salvage operation.
Italian officials said DNA tests were required but told Reuters that the remains were "absolutely consistent" with the two missing people, Indian waiter Russel Rebello and Italian passenger Maria Grazia Trecarichi.
The families of the two missing people, who had travelled to the island, have been informed.
The Concordia’s captain, Francesco Schettino, is on trial for alleged manslaughter, causing the shipwreck and abandoning ship during a confused and delayed evacuation.
