DO NOT USE THIS VERSION: Finally revealed: ? countries where the 14-day quarantine won't apply

Wednesday, 1 July 20203 min read

The Government has finally confirmed the list of ? countries where travel restrictions have been relaxed for travel from England.

The list includes all the countries where the Government deems it is no longer necessary to impose a 14-day quarantine for returning travellers.

However, the relaxations currently only apply to those who are arriving back to England. They don’t apply to anyone arriving back into Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland.

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said he hoped there was still time for the rest of the UK to implement the same changes.

Under the new scheme, countries will be classed as either green, amber or red, depending on their levels of coronavirus.

While Green countries, such as New Zealand, will have no restrictions, amber countries, including France, Germany, Italy and Spain, will shave ‘reciprocal arrangements’ in place, meaning travellers from the UK will not have to quarantine on arrival.

Restrictions will remain in place for ‘red’ countries, including the US.

The Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) has also updated its global advisory against ‘all but essential’ international travel to exempt certain destinations that no longer pose an unacceptably high risk of Covid-19 from July 4.
