Dream Cruises resumes sailing with social distancing dining concept
As Dream Cruises resumed operations out of Taiwan at the weekend, the cruise line debuted a new Flexi-Feast dining concept.
As part of post-Covid-19 new normal protocols, the new dining programme offers more flexibility for a customised dining experience at sea.
It allows the freedom to pick from a wider choice of venues and dine at flexible times, which helps ease any potential overcrowding at venues.
"The Flexi-Feast concept will open doors to a new world of customised dining at sea. It will also help us provide better social distancing at our dining venues by seating our guests across all our restaurants instead of concentrating on a few inclusive ones," said Michael Goh, President of Dream Cruises.
Guests can mix and match different food options instead of the usual rigid schedule of three meals a day.
Flexi Feast dining vouchers allow for more personalised dining including upgraded room service.
The Explorer Dream underwent a full deep cleaning and all crew completed a 14-day quarantine followed by negative Covid-19 tests.
The ship embarked on the first island hopping itinerary around Taiwan, calling at the islands of islands of Matsu and Penghu.
Dream Cruises says it has sold out sailings for July and August.
