Dynamic Pricing
Ellion Insight, the leading holiday and travel technology company, has today launched a major initiative to introduce dynamic pricing outside of the airline industry.
Based on the SAS Software price forecasting suite, the application provides an easy to use interface to allow holiday companies to move away from brochure and towards headline pricing.
“This type of pricing model has been used extensively throughout the airline industry for a number of years†said Mark Scott CEO Ellion Insight, “The challenge faced by more traditional holiday companies, has been the level of product complexity and the multi channel sales approach. Now, with SAS software and the strength of their price behaviour forecasting, combined with the Ellion Insight data aggregation approach, we have been able to provide a reliable method of achieving this goalâ€
Dynamic pricing will remove the ceiling on holiday company profits by maximising the revenue from their existing client base and stock levels without any corresponding increase in fixed overhead’s. Some real world examples include Firmdale Hotels based in London, Harrah’s casino chain based in the US and Kempinski Hotels based through out Europe.
