EasyJet cabin crew are set to pocket a 20% basic pay increase from 1 May 2024, following negotiations between the airline and union Unite.

After extensive talks, Unite secured the 18-month deal, which will also see easyJet crew take home an extra 3% on variable pay.

“When we work together, we win,” said Unite general secretary, Sharon Graham.

“It is excellent that our hard working members at easyJet receive a historic cabin crew pay increase.”

Cabin crew have a complex payment structure with salaries changing depending on routes and base location.

The variable pay refers to payments for flight duty which varies based on distance.

In addition to the permanent increase in pay, cabin managers – and probationary cabin managers – will receive a one-off payment of £2,000.

Cabin crew flight attendants will get £1,500.

In addition to an increase in wages, Unite achieved policy changes at easyJet.

The company airline will now pay £15 to all cabin crew on board when a service is disrupted by over an hour. If a delay exceeds 120 minutes, that payment will double.

Lindsey Olliver, regional officer at Unite said: “Cabin crew are an integral part of easyJet’s operations, and this deal recognises their value.”
