EasyJet launches Covid-19 Travel Hub
Budget carrier easyJet and easyJet holidays have launched a new online Traffic Light System information page to help customers navigate the constantly changing protocols and restrictions required now for international travel.
It will help customers based in the UK understand the green, amber and red list destination requirements to plan and prepare for travel.
Powered by travel technology provider Smartvel, the page will be updated with the latest status when the UK Government makes any announcements as countries move between the traffic light categories.
Sophie Dekkers, Chief Commercial Offfice of easyJet, commented: "We want to help our customer navigate through the various travel requirements and restrictions so they can feel confident about making their booking this summer."
"Our new Covid-19 Travel Hub will really help to equip them with the resources and tools they need to plan their next trip."
All customers booking flights with easyJet and packages with easyJet holidays benefit from flexible booking policies under its ‘Protection Promise’, allowing customers to amend their booking if their plans change.
All easyJet customers will now be able to change their flights this summer without a change fee, at any time up to two hours before departure, or request a voucher.
Customers can transfer to any flights currently on sale up to the end of September 2022, and to any other destination on the airline’s network across 35 countries in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.
Should a mandatory hotel quarantine impact a customer’s travel destination this summer, customers can now request a refund for their flight within four weeks before departure if the restriction is still in place, even if their flights are still operating.
The airline has partnered with approved testing firms across Europe so that customers can get access to affordable testing, including PCR tests from £60 if required for their trip when they book flights and holidays at easyJet.com.
The airline has also launched a new travel insurance policy which includes Covid-19 cover as standard.
The new Covid-19 travel insurance will cover customers who are diagnosed with the virus ahead of a trip, providing the necessary rearrangements or refunds, as well as cover to customers for any required medical care if diagnosed during their trip.
