Electronic confirmations offer by Travel 2/4
Overnight confirmations are to be made online to agents by Travel 2/4.
The long haul operator is to use the AXS-One e-delivery service to more than 4,500 UK agents.
AXS-One provides an independent online service through which operators post travel confirmations, invoices, itineraries and other documentation electronically. Agents registered with AXS-One log-in to the system and retrieve their relevant information without the need for conventional hard copy documents.
The e-delivery service, approved by the Civil Aviation Authority, brings cost benefits to agents – operational expense reductions of up to 96% can be achieved according to research by AXS-One.
Agents can e-mail a confirmation directly to the customer the moment it arrives rather than wait days to receive it through the post and then forward it on by post again. If changes to a booking are required, the agent has the ability to view the updated confirmation on-line and e-mail or print it from their desktop.
Travel 2/4 sales director David Holland said: “As a tailor-made travel specialist, we deal with complex, detailed itineraries every day – which means there are often a number of alterations to a booking before the client actually travels.
“This generates a lot of paperwork which is sometimes unnecessary. Using the AXS-One service, agents can view each successive confirmation when they want to and through the on-line archive can view the entire booking history immediately.
“In addition, the agent has the option to print off hard copies or to e-mail documentation and updates on to the customer. Phoning up for duplicate confirmations is a thing of the past and query resolution will now be much quicker.”
AXS-One managing director Mark Donkersley said: “The feedback we are getting from operators and agents is that everyone wins by using the service – including the customer.”
