Emirates to fly to Madagascar
Emirates will launch flights to Madagascar later this year.
Four flights a week will operate from 3 September 2024, connecting Dubai with Antananarivo via a linked service with the Seychelles.
The Madagascar flight times have been scheduled to optimise connections to and from key cities in Europe, the Far East, West Asia and the Middle East.
Flights will operate every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
The Madagascar flights via the Seychelles also enable two centre Indian Ocean holidays.
Tourism is a key part of Madagascar’s economy, which is targeting welcoming one million tourist arrivals by 2028.
The airline is also in discussion with Air Madagascar to offer further global connectivity.
Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Chief Commercial Officer said: “Madagascar has historically been underserved, despite growing appetite from travellers. Emirates understands the importance of offering customers efficient connectivity and premium travel experiences.”
“This new Antananarivo-Dubai route represents a significant step forward for the development of tourism and trade between the two countries,” said H.E Manambahoaka Valéry Ramonjavelo, Madagascar’s Minister of Transport.
Madagascar is the world’s fourth largest island, offering white sandy beaches, rainforests and three World Heritage UNESCO sites.
Madagascar flights will be served by three-class Boeing 777-300ER jets with 8 First Class suites, 42 Business Class suites and 310 seats in Economy.
