Entries Open for Cruise Council Awards
Entries are now open for the International Cruise Council Australasia’s annual awards, including the Best Cruise Consultant of the Year title.
Cruise Council General Manager Karen Christensen said the Best Cruise Consultant category was expected to be hotly contested, with member cruise lines, ICCA member agency managers and wholesalers all able to put forward nominees.
Other award categories include National Cruise Agency of the Year, New Member Achievement Award, Best Consumer Promotion and Outstanding Contribution by an Individual in the Cruise Industry. Nominations for these categories will be sought from member lines and associate wholesale partners.
For the first time, the New Zealand travel industry will be included in the awards, with their own categories for New Zealand’s Best Cruise Consultant of the Year and National Cruise Agency of the Year.
Criteria for all awards and nomination forms for the Best Cruise Consultant title are available on the travel agent section of the Council’s website www.cruising.org.au
Entries close Friday, December 2.
Ms Christensen said tickets for the awards, which mark the Cruise Council’s 10th anniversary, were selling fast, with more than 250 sold by early November.
The event has also attracted strong sponsorship support. The gold sponsor for the event will be Air New Zealand. British Airways, Globus/Avalon Waterways and Digital Mechanics will be silver sponsors, while Vacations & Travel magazine will be an individual sponsor. Supporting sponsors include Travel Bulletin, Travelvax, The Australian and Nestle.
The 10th Anniversary Cruise Council Awards Ceremony will be held at the Sheraton on the Park, Sydney, on Saturday, January 21, 2006. Tickets are available for $150 a head or $1500 for a table of 10.
For bookings, email event manager Karin van der Pligt on [email protected] or phone 0419 289505.
Special accommodation rates are available at the Sheraton for those attending the dinner.
