Etihad showcases new Indian cricket livery
Etihad Airways has unveiled its latest sports branding aircraft livery.
Its first Airbus A320neo jet now sports a new livery featuring the colours and branding of Indian cricket team the Chennai Super Kings.
The Airbus A320neo will operate on Etihad’s short haul routes.
The inaugural flight will take place in December to the team’s home base in Chennai, India.
Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, Etihad Airways, said: “We are delighted to celebrate our partnership with CSK with this stunning new livery in the bold yellow and blue colours of the Chennai Super Kings. “
“With our rapidly expanding global network, we are able to showcase the CSK special livery to millions of people in destinations wide and far.”
In February, Etihad became official sponsor of the Indian Premier League team for the 2024 season, holding a special ceremony launching in Chennai which was attended by thousands of fans.
Etihad has held fan experiences and activations at Chennai Super Kings’ matches.
Etihad operates 181 flights per week to 11 Indian cities.
In 2024, the airline launched new routes to Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala, as well as the ‘pink city’ of Jaipur and added frequencies to key gateways of Mumbai and Delhi.
In September, Etihad celebrated 20 years of flying to India.
Etihad has several special liveries celebrating its global sports partnerships, including Premier League champions Manchester City FC and the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
