Experience a Transatlantic voyage
The legendary crossing of the Atlantic Ocean will be offered 20 times in 2006 by the only ocean liner sailing the route, the giant Queen Mary 2.
The transatlantic journey – one of history’s most coveted travel experiences – is featured in Cunard’s new 2006 brochure for Australia.
The glossy 67-page program profiles a total of 56 cruises from 5-109 nights aboard the world’s most famous liners, Queen Mary 2 and Queen Elizabeth 2. Cunard’s 2006 calendar will see QM2 and QE2 offer a 76 per cent increase in capacity in the Mediterranean in 2006.
The royal duo offer a return to the golden age of ocean travel, with nostalgic passengers enjoying languid days at sea indulging in the ultimate luxury – time – where the journey becomes the destination.
“A Cunard voyage is no ordinary cruise,” said Cunard Line Australia’s Managing Director Gavin Smith. “It’s a unique and memorable experience where we treat our passengers like royalty as they experience the opulence and romance of a bygone era,” Mr Smith said.
“Cunard’s big new 2006 program will appeal to Australians seeking to savour the glamour of a grand ocean voyage on two of the grandest ocean liners ever built.
Launched last year as the world’s biggest liner, the 151,400-ton QM2 is the only cruise ship offering regular transatlantic services between New York and Southampton.
Fares on QM2’s six-night transatlantic crossings start at A$1379 per person twin share while a seven-night Scandinavian cruise on QE2 is priced from A$1709 per person twin share. Fares include all main meals and entertainment. Hotel and air packages are also available. For a copy of Cunard’s 2006 brochure, see a travel agent, call 1300 725 417 or visit www.cunardline.com.au.
