Extensive seminar programme for inaugral show
Organisers of the first Travel Technology Show have developed an ambitious seminar programme that caters for all sectors of the industry. Event director, David Chapple said: “We aim to give small to medium sized travel agents, tour operators, hoteliers and other suppliers an understanding of how profits can be created and savings made by employing the latest technologies.”” There are 16 one-hour sessions taking place over the 3 and 4 February. Sessions include a discussions on broadband in the travel industry, with Keith Webber of Telewest and Daman Singh of CCL taking part. The two have clashed swords in the past on TravelMole over the issue of the cost of broadband. Also on the programme is a debate on overcoming the problems of multiple distribution channels for tour operators, headlined by a panel including Travelink Systems’ David Jones and Seligo’s David Cockerton. There is a session on what the future holds for GDSs, which should be interesting following news this week of the changing relationship between British Airways and two of the GDSs. Representatives from the four GDSs will take part. Sessions cost £25 each but can be booked in advance for £15. The show is taking place alongside the Business Travel Show at Olympia in London.
