FAA head calls for criminal charges for dangerous in-flight incidents

Federal Aviation Administration chief Stephen Dickson says law enforcement needs to start cracking down on unruly airline passengers and called for airports to limit alcohol sales. Many dangerous incidents aboard flights end up with passengers ‘released without criminal charges of any kind’ Dickson said.

The FAA has a ‘zero tolerance’ policy and often proposed civil fines for serious incidents but has no jurisdiction to file criminal charges.

Dickson also wants airports to clamp down on alcohol sales.
