Fiji has seen strong growth in arrivals from the UK and globally during the first quarter of the year.

UK tourist arrivals were up 20% in February 2024 versus 2023 and up 14.7% in the first quarter.

Global visitation has also exceeded pre-pandemic levels, with February 2024 arrivals 15.8% higher (54,732 visitors) than in February 2020.

Tourism Fiji’s Regional Director UK & Europe Jane West said: “We are delighted to see our numbers exceeding pre-pandemic levels and are thankful to our trade partners in contributing to the UK traveller’s interest in Fiji.”

Globally, renewed airlift from Japan and Hong Kong, as well as a new connection from Vancouver has boosted overall tourist arrivals.

“We are excited to see a wide range of new Fiji resorts, as well as enhancements to some of the long-standing popular hotels.”

New Fiji resort openings for 2023/2024 include Waya Island Resort, a 17 bure adults-only property situated in the Mamanuca Islands and 324-room Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort & Spa opened on 1 February 2024 following a multi-million-dollar overhaul.

On the water, Captain Cook Cruises Fiji‘s new small ship expeditions on MS Caledonian Sky take travellers to parts of the Pacific not accessible by larger ships.

The floating platform Cloud 9 has launched a private island-hopping adventure for 2024, exploring the Mamanuca Islands.

Also, Vomo Island Resort has unveiled two brand new two-bedroom beachfront pool villas in time for the 2024 summer holidays.

OUTRIGGER Fiji Beach Resort also introduced the OUTRIGGER Adventure Park, offering paintball, a golf driving range, archery, and more.

Extensive refurbishments have taken place at a host of five-star Fiji resorts including, Yasawa Island Resort & Spa, Fiji, Royal Davui Island Resort and  Westin Denarau Island Resort & Spa scheduled for completion in 2024.

Luxury additions underway include Vatu Talei and Radisson Blu Naisoso, expected to open in 2026, as well as a 100% solar powered island resort with zero-emission yachting off Taveuni by Silent Yachts.
