Florida just had his best quarter ever for tourism
The Sunshine state just had the best quarter for tourist arrivals in its history.
Florida tourism’s first quarter of 2024 reaches 40.6 million visitors, the most ever, while the revised full year total was 140 million visitors in 2023.
This is also a record, up 2.3% on 2022.
It was hailed by the state DMO.
“Florida tourism continues to welcome visitors with open arms,” said Dana Young, CEO of Visit Florida.
“The record-breaking visitation of 2023 has continued in 2024.”
Domestic travel made up the vast bulk of total visitation last year with 129.1 million domestic visitors coming to Florida.
There were 3.2 million Canadians in 2023, and 8.3 million overseas visitors from other countries.
“Once again, Florida leads the nation for tourists,” Gov. Ron DeSantis said.
“These record-breaking numbers show that our work has made Florida tourism even more attractive to visitors.”
Orlando International was the states busiest gateway slightly ahead of Miami.
