Florida Keys tourism is set to celebrate the bicentennial of the island chain throughout 2023.

The revelry kicks off with a concert and drone show in Key West on March 25.

The concert and other activities salute the 200th anniversary of the Florida legislature’s founding of Monroe County.

Other Florida Keys tourism events recognize the anniversary and showcase’ two centuries of history.

The March 25 festivities combine live music, a Keys history presentation and a drone fireworks show.

Local musician Nick Norman opens the celebration.

A 250-strong drone fireworks display is scheduled to cap the evening’s entertainment.

“The Florida Keys that our visitors experience today are built on the unique history we’re celebrating,” said Craig Cates, mayor of Monroe County.”

Other 200th anniversary events include Naval Air Station Key West’s Air Spectacular, a sea-to-table dinner set in Islamorada, artists and coral restoration initiatives; and Bicentennial Day festivities and fireworks.
