Gatwick passenger traffic, revenue up
Gatwick Airport is having ‘one of our busiest summers yet’ as it announced double digit half-year revenue growth and net profit.
Almost 20 million passengers travelled to and from Gatwick in the first half of the year.
That represents an increase of 7.7% compared with 2023.
Revenues for the six months were £488 million, up 15.3%.
It posted a H1 net profit of £106 million which is up more than one-third.
“With the growing demand for travel, we are experiencing one of our busiest summers yet,” said airport CEO, Stewart Wingate.
“Thanks to robust planning and close collaboration with our partners we’ve had a strong start to 2024.”
“I am delighted that we have once again achieved good service levels, as evidenced by meeting 100% of our service measures.”
The airport’s focus this year is attracting new long-haul routes.
Recent new routes include Singapore Airlines flights.
This week Air India launched Bengaluru flights.
